AIR HOUSE, ANDERSSON BELL AW24

ANDERSSON BELL AW24, Milano, January 14, 2024. Are we taking off or landing? The air traffic controller, ANDERSSON BELL, ‘controlled’ us perfectly, ensure our fashion safety, paying homage with the new AW24 collection, to Ki-Ok Kwon, a trailblazing figure in Korean history, blending her spirit as one of South Korea’s first female pilots with the romance of Air Force aesthetics.

When after the show, I asked Dohun Kim (creative director), how he was feeling, got the expected answer, he was excited, and so happy for creating this collection. We, the guests, were very satisfied and happy too, from the scenery to the collection. The brand worked for a second time, with renowned stylist Robbie Spencer.

This season, Andersson Bell defies expectations, marrying functional military elements with timeless and romantic silhouettes. Ruched utility-style coats in charcoal and burnt orange nylon dominate the male silhouettes, embodying the collection’s romantic functionality. The runway will witness a statement knitted men’s bustier, while parachute jackets with juxtaposed hoods flaunt heritage floral and plaid fabrics. Velvet fabric combos and oversized fringing create a romantic mood, complemented by racer leather jackets featuring racing details. Leather patchwork co-ord outfits with stargazer prints and quilted parka coats with hardware and drawstring detailing showcase the diverse inspirations behind the eclectic collection.

The women’s collection introduces statement dresses inspired by parachute with transitional skirt detailing, offering wearers the freedom to experiment with length. Cut-out hoodies inject a sporty edge, while back-lace-up jackets add a sense of courtesan drama, softening the collection’s utilitarian edge.

In addition to the main collection, Andersson Bell teases exciting collaborations on the catwalk that are due to be unveiled at a later date. Among the standout accessories are the “Dono” bag, featuring a ruched handle and box design in multiple colourways. The “Dumpling” bag introduces a unique touch with corded stoppers in the larger size and ribbon detailing in the smaller. In the fusion of functionality and romance, Andersson Bell creates an immersive experience.
